As a stand-up comedian, MC, improviser, gig promoter, writer & coach, James is obsessed with all things comedy, and doesn’t remember a time when making people laugh wasn’t his prime objective. First introduced to the Gloucestershire comedy scene in 2017, he has now been gigging across the South West for 6 years and holds his own regular comedy nights bringing together some of the best comedic talent from both locally and further afield.

Passionate about what stand-up & comedy improv can do for people (those performing and those watching), James has also been a driving force in encouraging wannabe comedians to give it a go, delivering in-person workshops & virtual writers workshops, and writing a beginner’s guide: ‘A Confident Start in Stand-Up Comedy’. He is also often called upon to voice opinions as a comedy expert, such as being featured on BBC Radio and contributing to academic papers on the subject of comedy.

James launched Laughter Spark in 2023 to start bringing more laughter into spaces where fun so often takes a backseat, and to help businesses, schools, and charities to benefit from providing their people with a good laugh!
